On new machines, please make sure you twist the Porta Filter until the handle is just about perpendicular to the machine. It takes a little force to twist the handle on new machines until the porta filter is worn-in.
Only use the double filter basket provided with the machine. If you think you received a single basket, that is actually to be used with the pod-adaptor (plastic disc), which is now included with the Aroma.

On older machines, the gasket on the group head may be worn out. This is relatively easy to replace yourself. To prevent this, always clean the rim of the porta filter from ground coffee. Ground coffee on the rim acts like sand paper.
