Grinder Blocked Troubles
It is not uncommon that stones, wood chips and other foreign particles end up in a bag of coffee. This will cause any grinder to jam up (humming motor). The easiest way is to open the grinder to its coarse setting and see if the particles pass thru the burrs. Next step is to take the grinder apart. Pending on the model, this is easily done. Then vacuum out the grinder.
IMPORTANT: When adjusting a burr grinder to its finer settings, only do so slowly, while the grinder is running! Otherwise the beans get crushed between the burrs, causing the grinder to jam up.
You can then also try to use the Urnex Grindz cleaning tablets to clean the grinder.
