SOLIS is one of the leading producers and distributors of electrical appliances - and not only in Switzerland.
  1908

The developer of the famous electrical heating pad, Dr. W. Schaufelberger, founded the SOLIS AG engaging in production and distribution.

In the following years the product range was extended into the fields “Electrical heating pads/Cuddlesome warmth”, “Household” and “Beauty”.

  1933 Commencement of the hairdryer production in Zurich.
  1943 SOLIS took over social responsibility by following the call of the Bundesrat (Swiss federal council) and moved the production to the economically weakened Kanton of Ticino in Switzerland..

In the 50s, SOLIS became active in the international markets.
  1959 Hairdryer export success in the USA and ten years later in Asia. Even today, Japan’s hair stylists swear by the quality of SOLIS hairdryers “Made in Switzerland”.
  1983 The entrepreneur Willi A. Nauer took over the SOLIS AG and expanded it to the SOLIS group.
  1985 SOLIS launched the worldwide first fully automatic espresso machine for households, of whose have been sold over half a million units up to this day.

Subsequently SOLIS broad its range of fully automatic espresso machines on offer by adding new innovative models.
  1993 Opening of its own production and service centre, the ‘Centro’ SOLIS in Mendrisio/Ticino.
  1997 Introduction of the first Coffee Pod machine, the SOLIS 1, 2, 3 , SPRESSO for the household markets.
  2002 Solis sets new standards with the production of the first ion-hairdryer. The continuous development of new appliances increases the Solis product ranges to 4 individual lines.
  2003 The wellness trend is still expanding and SOLIS increases its product assortment of household appliances by adding high-end lifestyle products with hot sellers like the juice fountain and many more.
  2004/05 The consumer awareness for healthy cooking products is increasing and Solis follows this trend with new products such as blenders, citrus presses, and fat-free contact grills.
  2005/06 Two new espresso machines are added to the line of coffee equipment. The fully automatic Ultra “One Touch Cappuccino” for semi-professional usage as well as the design winning traditional life-style machine Design Espresso Pro in certain countries. Both models enjoy great popularity all over the world.
  2006 Solis continues its innovation with the launch of 2 additional hair dryers. The 2 most successful models Skyline and Jet Line are now equipped with the TCI features = Tourmaline, Ceramic and Ions and are implemented as Sky TCI and Jet TCI. Furthermore the new Nail Care Type 79 and the new Nail Studio Type 78 are being launched with modern features to satisfy today’s and tomorrow’s quality requirements.
  Future Solis will continue to develop and launch modern, easy-to-use, high-quality appliances.
