Synopsis:

For quite a while we have been hearing rumours about the new Rancilio Silvia V4, but that was just it....a rumour.

Ever since the talk started with "When is the new Rancilio V4 coming out" it was only just talk. There is no Rancilio V4 being released. Previous versions of the Silvia that were released were never called V 1, 2, 3. These were given by the distributors and/or forums, and it just stuck.

Then there was the time period when some called the next update the Silvia Pro because it featured the 'Pro' Baskets.

The last update on the machine was in September 2013 (call it V4). You can now order a heating element as a separate part, whereas before you had to purchase the boiler which was attached to the heating element. And no, the steam wand is not longer as mentioned in some forums.

Prior to that the last updates were in 2008 (AKA V3): New filter holder design, steam wand, steam nozzle, steam valve and drip tray.

Production for the Rancilio Silvia has increased every year, supply the demand.

Here at Espresso Planet, we have the latest model in stock!

UPDATE - January 2016 Rancilio released the official update version "M" and everyone calls it V5. The new power switch features 2 LED's and the boiler is know insulated to make the Silvia more energy efficient.

UPDATE: - October 2019 - HOST MILAN - Rancilio showed the new Rancilio Silvia Pro. The Silvia Pro features:

  • Dual Boiler 220 Volt - We can assume the 110 Volt version will have heating element management
  • PID - Finally we see a standard OEM PID version for the Rancilio Silvia Pro - Long overdue
  • Dedicated hot water spout

Not clear if the automatic OFF and programmable ON timer will be available for North America.

Still missing: Sight Glass for the water tank level and a Non Burn Steam Wand
