Synopsis:

Baratza is giving us an update on the beloved Virtuoso and changing the names of some of their best selling burrs.

The Virtuoso+ is Baratza's update of their best-selling and beloved home use grinder, the Virtuoso. While maintaining the same design and quality of their burrs, that were improved during their last update. This update heavily focuses on features and user experience, aiming to improve on their streamlined design.

The most noticeable, and possibly most important addition is the LCD display timer. This timer gives you more precision in your grind amount, so you are not over grinding; less waste! There's also a pulse mode that basically does the opposite of a timed grind: hold down the grind button and grind for as long as you want and the timer will let you know how long your dose is. There is also a new set of LED lights that illuminates the grinds bin for better dose visibility.

The rest of the Virtuoso+'s stats are the same: 40mm conical steel burrs, 40 grind settings and a high quality build. The new timer really does make upgrading or a first time purchase worth it, as it really does it all. The perfect home brew grinder!

As a home grinder owner, you are probably well aware of burrs, and that means this is pertinent information for you! Baratza has decided to rename their very popular AP and BG Burr types for their Sette line, which is important to know when it comes to ordering replacement burrs. The AP Burrs will now be called S1 Burrs and the BG Burrs will be called S2. Fairly straight forward, right?

Though this change is small, it is important to note since your original grinder that needs new burrs will not refer to S1 or S2 (as long as they were bought before the change; all new grinders will reflect this name change). And in case you were worried, there is absolutely no difference in quality or machining between the old and new burrs, just new names.

Happy Brewing!
